THIOTEPA is a Schedule G drug.
Thiotepa is a cancer medicine that interferes with the growth and spread of cancer cells in the body.Thiotepa is used to treat cancer of the breast, ovary, bladder, and others.It is used in combination with other cancer medicine during hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation.

How Do I Take It?

Route of Administration: IV (Intravenous),

Precautions

  • Do not use if you are pregnant.
  • You should not receive thiotepa if you are allergic to it.
  • When injected into the bladder, you will need to hold the medicine inside your bladder for 2 hours. Tell your caregivers if this causes you a great deal of discomfort.
  • If any of this medicine accidentally gets on your skin, wash it thoroughly with soap and warm water.
  • Thiotepa is usually given once every 1 to 4 weeks.
  • Your blood will need to be tested often during treatment and for at least 3 weeks after you stop receiving thiotepa.Avoid being near people who are sick or have infections. Tell your doctor at once if you develop signs of infection.
  • Thiotepa can pass into body fluids. For at least 48 hours after you receive a dose, avoid allowing your body fluids to come into contact with your hands or other surfaces. Caregivers should wear rubber gloves while cleaning up a patient’s body fluids, handling contaminated trash or laundry or changing diapers.
  • Wash hands before and after removing gloves. Wash soiled clothing and linens separately from other laundry.It may reduce platelet counts, avoid injury or bruising.
  • Avoid live vaccination.

THIOTEPA : Paralysis, Nosebleeds, Infertility, Gums Bleeding, Blood Or Red Colored Urine, Eyes Double Vision (without One Eye Covered), Confusion, Bloody Or Red Colored Vomit, Difficulty Breathing, Difficulty Swallowing, Body Difficulty Walking, Vagina Bleeding, Eyes Drooping Eyelid, Jaws Pain, Fingers Tingling, Fingers Pain, Dark Colored (brown) Urine, Black (tar) Colored Stools, Weakness (generalized), Pain With Urination
