Precautions
- Before and during your treatment with tipiracil and trifluridine, you will need blood tests.
- You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to tipiracil or trifluridine.
- Do not miss any scheduled appointments.Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not use tipiracil and trifluridine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
- Tipiracil and trifluridine should be taken within 1 hour after your morning and evening meals.
- Tipiracil and trifluridine is given in a 28-day treatment cycle.
- Wash your hands after handling tipiracil and trifluridine tablets.
- Caregivers who touch or handle the tablets should wear rubber gloves.
- Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.Avoid being near people who are sick or have infections. Tell your doctor at once if you develop signs of infection.
- Tipiracil and trifluridine can pass into body fluids. Caregivers should wear rubber gloves while cleaning up a patient’s body fluids, handling contaminated trash or laundry or changing diapers.
- Wash hands before and after removing gloves. Wash soiled clothing and linens separately from other laundry.Do not have immunizations/vaccinations without the consent of your doctor. Avoid contact with people who have recently received live vaccines.
