LETROZOLE is a Schedule H drug.Letrozole lowers estrogen levels in postmenopausal women, which may slow the growth of certain types of breast tumors that need estrogen to grow in the body.Letrozole is a aromatase inhibitor. It works by decreasing the amount of oestrogen (natural female hormone) produced in the body. This can slow or stop the growth of some breast cancers that need oestrogen to grow. In addition, it is also useful in infertility whereby it increases the release of certain hormones to stimulate the release of eggs from the ovaries.Letrozole is also used to help prevent the cancer from returning.
