Overview
VALSARTAN is a Schedule H drug.Valsartan is used in the treatment of high blood pressure.Valsartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker. It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels, allowing the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.Valsartan is sometimes given together with other blood pressure medications.

How Do I Take It?
Route of Administration: OralPrecautions
- If you have diabetes, do not use valsartan together with any medication that contains aliskiren.
- You should not use valsartan if you are allergic to it.
- Do not use if you are pregnant.
- Follow all directions on your prescription label. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results.
- Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.You may take valsartan with or without food. Take the medicine at the same time each day.
- If a child taking valsartan cannot swallow a capsule whole, your pharmacist can mix the medicine into a liquid.
- Shake this liquid well just before you measure a dose. Measure the liquid with a special dose-measuring spoon or medicine cup, not with a regular table spoon.
- Your blood pressure will need to be checked often. Your kidney function may also need to be checked.
- It may take 2 to 4 weeks of using this medicine before your blood pressure is under control.
- Talk with your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 4 weeks of treatment.
- Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
- Avoid getting up too fast from a sitting or lying position, or you may feel dizzy. Get up slowly and steady yourself to prevent a fall.It may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. It may cause dehydration, vomiting, excessive sweating or diarrhea; if you experience with any of these symptoms consult with your doctor.
