DOFETILIDE

Overview

DOFETILIDE is a Schedule H drug.
Dofetilide is a heart rhythm medicine, also called an antiarrhythmic. Dofetilide is used to help keep the heart beating normally in people with certain heart rhythm disorders of the atrium (the upper chambers of the heart that allow blood to flow into the heart). Dofetilide is used in people with atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter.

Route of Administration: Oral

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of heart, liver or kidney disease, who are taking other medications, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. Avoid alcohol consumption.You will need to spend at least 3 days in a hospital setting when you first start taking dofetilide.

Symptoms of Overdosage

DOFETILIDE over-dosage can result in: Difficulty Breathing, Dizziness, Fainting

DOFETILIDE : Dizziness, Fainting, Rapid Heart Rate (pulse), Chest Pain, Confusion, Slow Heart Rate (pulse), Slurred Speech, Weight Gain, Eyes Yellow Eyes, Shortness Of Breath, Fatigue (tiredness), Weakness (generalized)
