Diflunisal is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Diflunisal is used to treat mild to moderate pain, osteoarthritis, or rheumatoid arthritis.

Precautions
Avoid drinking alcohol. It may increase your risk of stomach bleeding. Avoid taking aspirin or other NSAIDs while you are taking diflunisal. Ask your doctor before using an antacid, and use only the type your doctor recommends. Some antacids can make it harder for your body to absorb diflunisal. It should not be used in children with viral infections. Monitor kidney function, complete blood cell counts and blood pressure regularly while taking this medication.Symptoms of Overdosage
