Overview
FELBAMATE is a Schedule H drug.Felbamate is an anti-epileptic medication, also called an anticonvulsant.Felbamate is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat seizures in adults with epilepsy. Felbamate is also used to treat children with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe form of childhood epilepsy that also causes developmental and behavior problems.Felbamate is usually given after other seizure medications have been tried without successful treatment of symptoms.

How Do I Take It?

- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
- Follow the directions on your prescription label.Contact your doctor if your seizures get worse or you have them more often while taking felbamate.Caution should be exercised in patients with history of kidney or liver problems, mental illness, any allergy, who are taking other medications, elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- It may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or double vision, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.Patient may develop with increased risk of suicidal thoughts.
- Monitor liver function tests and complete blood cell counts regularly while taking this medication.
