Overview
LACOSAMIDE is a Schedule H drug.Lacosamide is an anti-epileptic drug, also called an anticonvulsant.Lacosamide is used together with other medications to treat partial-onset seizures in adults and children who are at least 4 years old.It may work by slowing abnormal nerve impulses in the brain. It controls seizures or fits by decreasing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

How Do I Take It?

- You should not use lacosamide if you are allergic to it.
- Do not start or stop taking this medicine without your doctor’s advice, and tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant.
- Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets.
- Your doctor may occasionally change your dose. Use the medicine exactly as directed.
- Measure liquid medicine carefully. Use the dosing syringe provided, or use a medicine dose-measuring device (not a kitchen spoon).
- Do not stop using lacosamide suddenly, even if you feel fine.
- Stopping suddenly may cause increased seizures.
- Lacosamide is a drug of abuse and you should be aware if anyone is using your medicine improperly or without a prescription.
- Do not take two doses at one time.lacosamide may cause dizziness or blurred vision, and may impair your reactions.
- Avoid driving or hazardous activity until you know how this medicine will affect you.The liquid form of this medication may contain aspartame. If you have phenylketonuria or any other condition that requires you to limit/avoid aspartame (or phenylalanine) in your diet, ask your doctor or pharmacist about using this medication safely.
