Overview

ROTIGOTINE is a Schedule H drug.
Rotigotine has some of the same effects as a chemical called dopamine, which occurs naturally in your body. Low levels of dopamine in the brain are associated with Parkinson’s disease.
Rotigotine transdermal (skin patch) is used to treat symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, such as stiffness, tremors, muscle spasms, and poor muscle control. Rotigotine is also used to treat restless legs syndrome (RLS).

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of high or low blood pressure, heart, liver or kidney disease, lung problems, fluid retention or swelling, mental illness, alcoholism, any allergy, who are taking other medications, elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause drowsiness or dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery and get up slowly from bed while taking this medication. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication. Patient may develop with increased risk of skin cancer; if it is so consult with your healthcare provider. Avoid exposure to sunlight.

ROTIGOTINE over-dosage can result in: Mood Swings, Confusion, Hallucinations, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs)

ROTIGOTINE : Hands Swelling, Ankles Swelling, Legs Swelling, Blood Or Red Colored Urine, Eyes Blurred Vision, Pain With Urination, Dizziness, Frequent Urge To Urinate, Head Headache, Lower Back Pain, Nervousness, Ear Pounding, Irregular Heartbeat
