DINOPROSTONE is a Schedule H drug.Dinoprostone is a prostaglandin, a hormone-like substance that is naturally produced by tissues in the body. Dinoprostone topical is used in a pregnant woman to relax the muscles of the cervix (opening of the uterus) in preparation for inducing labor at the end of a pregnancy.

It may raise eye pressure hence should be used with caution in patients with glaucoma. Caution needed for patients with history of previous cesarean section, asthma; anemia; uterine surgery; diabetes; high or low blood pressure; placenta previa(condition where the placenta partly or completely covers the outlet of the uterus); a seizure disorder; previous multiple pregnancies; glaucoma or increased pressure in the eye; cephalopelvic disproportion (babies head or body is too large to fit through the mother’s pelvis); previous difficult or traumatic deliveries; or unexplained vaginal bleeding.Symptoms of Overdosage
