Precautions

  • Caution should be exercised in patients with history ofblood disease porphyria, infection, any allergy, who are taking other medications, elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • It may cause drowsiness or dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
  • Avoid alcohol consumption.
  • Monitor liver function, thyroid levels, complete blood cell counts, andelectrolyte levels regularly while taking this medication
  • Before you have any kind of surgery (including dentalsurgery) or emergency treatment, tell the medical doctor or dentist in charge that you are taking aminoglutethimide. Because aminoglutethimide affects the adrenal gland, extra steroids may be needed.
  • Check with your doctor right awayif you get an injury, infection, or illness of any kind. Aminoglutethimide may weaken your body’s defenses against infection or inflammation.
