PROPYLTHIOURACIL is a Schedule H drug.
 Propylthiouracil prevents the thyroid gland from producing too much thyroid hormone. Propylthiouracil is used to treat hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), Graves’ disease, or toxic goiter (enlarged thyroid). propylthiouracil is sometimes given to control symptoms just before you undergo thyroid surgery or treatment with radioactive iodine.

It may cause drowsiness or dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. Patient may develop with increased risk of liver damage and bone marrow depression; if it is so consult with your doctor. It may affect platelet counts; avoid bruising or injury. Avoid excess dosage.

PROPYLTHIOURACIL over-dosage can result in: Nausea, Vomit, Abdomen Pain, Head Headache, Arms Joint Pain, Fever, Chills, Body Itching, Loss Of Appetite, Restless Or Irritability, Drowsiness
