PASIREOTIDE is a Schedule H drug.
Pasireotide is a man-made protein that is similar to a hormone in the body called somatostatin. Pasireotide lowers certain hormone substances produced in the body. Pasireotide is used to treat Cushing’s disease or acromegaly (endocrine disorders). Pasireotide is usually given after surgery or other treatments have been tried without success.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of high blood sugar, diabetes, heart, liver or kidney problems, gallstones, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Monitor blood glucose level and liver function regularly while taking this medication. Perform gallbladder ultrasounds before starting treatment and at 6-month intervals.
