Overview
NEFAZODONE HYDROCHLORIDE is a Schedule H drug.Nefazodone is an antidepressant. It is used to treat depression, including major depressive disorder. Nefazodone is not chemically similar to other groups of antidepressants, such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or "SSRIs", tricyclic antidepressants, or monoamine oxidase inhibitors or "MAOIs." Nefazodone can also cause dizziness and blurred vision. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how nefazodone affects you.

How Do I Take It?
Route of Administration: OralPrecautions
- It may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
- Avoid alcohol consumption.
- Monitor liver function, kidney function, and complete blood cell counts regularly while taking this medication.
- Patient may develop with increased risk of suicidal thoughts; watch them carefully.
- Before taking nefazodone, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or to trazodone or if you have any other allergies.
- Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist that you are using this medication.
- During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
- It is not known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
- Caution should be exercised in patients with seizures, heart attack, chest pain, stroke, or other heart disease, liver disease, stomach bleeding, suicidal tendencies, who are taking other medications, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
