LANOLIN is an Over-the-counter (OTC) drug.
Lanolin is a natural substance found in sheep’s wool.Lanolin is used in the treatment of execessive skin dryness.Lanolin belongs to a class of drugs called skin moisturizers. It works by hydrating outermost layer of the skin and promotes skin moisturizing.

Precautions

  • You should not use lanolin topical if you are allergic to it.
  • Lanolin topical is available in cream or ointment form. Use your medicine exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.Do not take by mouth. Lanolin topical is for use only on the skin. If this product gets in your eyes, nose, mouth, rectum, or vagina, rinse with water.
  • Apply a small amount of lanolin topical to the affected area and rub in gently.
  • To use lanolin topical for sore nipples: Apply a pea-sized amount to the entire nipple area after each feeding. You do not need to wash off lanolin topical before breast-feeding again.
  • When using lanolin topical to treat or prevent diaper rash: Clean the diaper area well and allow it to dry thoroughly before applying the medicine.
  • Apply at each diaper change as needed.Do not apply lanolin on deep wounds, open sores with swelling, redness or bleeding, or infection of the skin.
  • do not use lanolin to the child without medical advice.
